In mid-Wensleydale traditional craft skills are a way of life. Locally there are workshops for candlemaking, pottery, jewellery, glassmaking, sculpture, teddy bears, stained glass and violin making as well as a Tea Pottery producing witty and wonderfully unique designs.

There are quality craft shops in Middleham, Leyburn and the local villages. Both towns have small independent galleries presenting changing programmes of exhibitions throughout the year.

Tennant's Auction Centre in Leyburn has regular fine art and antique auctions.
